Based on the rugged North Cornwall coast, The Cornish Distilling Co. is creating their very own distilled British rum, using exceptional ingredients and a knowledge to match.

Having completed a PhD in Chemistry, Head Distiller Tom Read set out to create one of Cornwall's first scratch distilled rums, here at Norton Barton Artisan Food Village.

The first rum to be released is Kalkar, a genuine British distilled rum, blended with single-origin cold coffee brew.

Having won 3 gold stars, at the 2017 Great Taste Awards, Kalkar is set to become a flagship product for The Cornish Distilling Co. 

'"A lot of time and effort has gone in to creating Kalkar and I am really proud of our first product to be released. The single origin coffee provides notes of fresh espresso and chocolate, while the rum I have made adds fruit with hints of spice and a good bite to finish.

Just a touch of sugar is added to balance the drink. I love it and can't wait to get it out there for others to try."
