Life on the farm now is almost as idyllic as you’d imagine, as long as you don’t mind looking past the 14 hour plus working days that Richard and Fionagh now enjoy or the stress of managing a business. Everything, touch wood, is running smoothly, and being supported by the most amazing team of staff.
I for one am glad that the site moved at least a little away from animal husbandry and towards food. Farming is one of those things that you have to be a particular kind of strong to fully embrace and love. After years of rearing cows, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, sheep and even dabbling with alpacas and quails, it is only the pigs that remain on any kind of a commercial scale with a large amount of the pork that goes into the products being reared on site.
